Another good option is Windows Movie Maker, which also has received excellent reviews for users. One of our favorite tools for basic video editing is iMovie (iOs only). If you don’t have much cash to spend on editing software, there are plenty of ways to trim your videos without spending a dime. There are also lots of third-party programs that can boost your productivity further. You can use your voice or keyboard to get around, and there are even plenty of shortcuts built in. If you’re looking for something that will let you take some simple video clips and edit them quickly, give it a try. One of Microsoft’s more recent operating systems, Windows 10 is geared toward simplicity and efficiency. Click File > Import > From PC/Device to start importing your clips from OneDrive into your video editor. Once installed, open your video editor of choice and create a new project. If you haven’t already done so, download and install one of these compatible video editors: HitFilm Express (free), iMovie (free), or Windows Movie Maker ($9.99). Don’t miss out! After creating your account, install OneDrive onto your computer (Windows XP is not supported). However, if you do upgrade before then, it will remain free until July 29, 2017.
Just note that, if you’re using Windows 7 or 8.1, you won’t be able to upgrade until after March 31, 2016. Head on over to Microsoft’s OneDrive website and sign up for an account.
Otherwise, look up free video editors for Mac on Google. If you’re using Microsoft’s platform, download Lightworks from its website here.
It’s available for free if you have Windows 8 or later, although users can make a donation for access to extra features and functions (around $55). Lightworks is an open-source video editor that runs on PCs.
